Am, F, and Dm: A Three-Chord Family

These three chords are close to each other on the fretboard, which makes them perfect for smooth transitions.

Am Fingering

  • Middle finger: G string, 2nd fret.

F Fingering

  • Keep your middle finger on the G string, 2nd fret.
  • Index finger: E string, 1st fret.

Dm Fingering

  • Keep the F shape.
  • Ring finger: C string, 2nd fret.

Practice the order Am - F - Dm and back again. Strum once after each change and focus on clean sound.
